Monassa - Watercircles

UpMyAlley is shifting towards more electronic fields with its 3rd release by London born – Berlin raised producer Graham Stark aka Monassa. We first heard a CDR containing his own productions in 2003 but is hasn`t been until now that his first solo 12” with two stunning instrumental journeys is about to drop on UpMyAlley.

“Watercircles” builds and builds into a gentle yet stomping and swinging midtempo affair with its complex drum programming, thick subbass and jazzy piano chords, spiced up with Monassa`s own vocal snippets to great effect .

“Sargasso” is an epic Y2K cut-up jazzpiece with a strong cinematic feel all over it and heaps of unexpected turns along the way. A slight resemblance to Matthew Herbert`s productions cannot be denied but doesn`t come close at the same time, just give it it a listen yourself!

Feedback:

Yep like this, reminds me of jazzanova 97 but on the wrong speed.
Interesting sound the label is developing, very unique!  Domu

Feelin' the "Watercircles" jam... deep'n'lush!  Mad Mats (Raw Fusion)

Both tracks are great, though Watercircles is my fav... this will have a long life in my bag, especially now that the sun is shining.  Prins Thomas (Eskimo)
